The Beach Club is Christophe Harbour’s second private Club amenity following the golf course at Priddie’s Plateau and will serve as a vibrant gathering space for Christophe Harbour Club Members and their guests. The 9,400 square foot open-air venue will include a swimming pool, changing area and covered beach bar and grille. In addition to the pool and lounge areas, the Beach Club will provide direct access to Sandy Bank Bay beach and Atlantic Ocean.
Overlooking the Atlantic, the Beach Club will join the Beach House restaurant as an alternate dining option at Christophe Harbour. The Beach Club, open Tuesday – Sunday year round, will serve a light continental breakfast and lunch.
“The Beach Club groundbreaking signifies another evolution in the continual development of Christophe Harbour,” said LeGrand Elebash, Chief Operating Officer , CHDC. “The Sandy Bank Bay community is growing rapidly, and this venue will be stylish, comfortable, and convenient for our members and guests. It will be the cornerstone of Sandy Bank Bay in the future.”
The Beach Club at Sandy Bank Bay is expected to open in early 2011 with approximately 12 staff members consisting of beach, pool and changing area attendants as well as a food and beverage team.
Designed by John Denton Haley, Director of Architecture for CHDC, The Beach Club will have coral floors and columns as well as stone and Wallaba wood roof shingles. The Beach Club’s architecture begins with an open structure taken from St. Kitts- Nevis inspiration and defined by romantic pathway entrances, stone arches, fireplaces, private dining patios, natural-edged pools, and waterfall showers.
DCK Worldwide, a global construction company that specializes in high-end hospitality development, will build the $7 million complex. Having worked in the Caribbean for 15 years developing more than 80 projects, DCK Worldwide will serve as the general contractor operating from its St. Kitts office. It is now reviewing bids to hire local sub-contractors that will perform specialized trade work throughout the project.
“As Christophe Harbour continues to progress, we are coming closer to realizing the goal of elevating St. Kitts as a well recognized travel and lifestyle destination,” said the Honorable Denzil Douglas. “And by building The Beach Club at Sandy Bank Bay, the Christophe Harbour development team is making still another important contribution to the future of the southeast peninsula and our Federation.”
