Christophe Harbour Celebrates Inaugural Member-Guest Weekend
By Katherine in Community
What a true pleasure to celebrate the inaugural Member-Guest weekend at Christophe Harbour February 17-20, 2010. For three thrilling days, Members and their guests enjoyed sunny skies, temperatures in the 80s (F), and a nice departure from the cold and snow in most parts of the world.
From as far as London and as close as St. Kitts and all across the U.S., Christophe Harbour Club Founding Members traveled to St. Kitts to enjoy a weekend of camaraderie and the thrill of an island lifestyle. More than 50 people were in attendance.
Each day brought a new adventure, flying high above the canopy on the Sky Safari zip line, reeling in a few wahoos, and exploring the island’s rich and storied historic spots. But the highlight of the weekend was, hands down, the Sunset Hole-In-One Challenge atop Priddies Plateau, the site for the Tom Fazio golf course. The Christophe Harbour team had Hole No. 8 outfitted with a tee box and a green. As the sun began to set across the Caribbean, members and guests each took two swings in hopes of landing a hole-in-one. Grand prize was a trip for 4 couples on a private Hawker jet for a week’s stay at the Turtle Beach Bungalows.
The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis Dr. Denzil Douglas and Ricky Skerritt, Tourism Minister, joined the group for groundbreaking and a ceremonial champagne toast to commemorate the launch of harbour construction. As the Prime Minister signaled the construction crew to make the first dig, boats at anchor in Whitehouse Bay sounded their agreement with a blowing of horns.
This inaugural event was a resounding success on all accounts, and we’re looking forward to celebrating many more memorable moments and great times with the Christophe Harbour members as development progresses.
